Drone Impact Controls Guide

PC and mobile expectations for on-foot combat and FPV piloting — confirm uncertain binds in-game.

Last updated:

Mastering Drone Impact starts with muscle memory: infantry movement for defenders and attackers on foot, plus a separate FPV control layer when you pilot drones. This page documents expected control patterns for Roblox FPS-style combat and FPV flight. Where a bind is not publicly confirmed for the current build, we label it check in-game settings instead of inventing a false key.

After you confirm binds, return to Getting Started for match goals, then practice flight tips in FPV Drones.

Before you remap anything

  1. Open the experience Settings / controls menu on your device.
  2. Note whether you are on keyboard + mouse, touch, or gamepad (if supported in your session).
  3. Search for actions named like move, look, jump, fire/shoot, interact, drone, UAV, exit vehicle, or EW/jam.
  4. Save changes, then test in a live round — some binds only appear after you own a drone tool or EW item.

Never trust a random image macro that claims “press X to jam” without verifying the live menu. Patches can rebind tools when UAV flight is reworked (as seen in flight-system updates that also added Defense mode and freer UAV spawning).

Infantry controls (on foot)

These expectations match standard Roblox shooter layouts used across Attackers and Defenders while you are not in FPV.

ActionTypical PC expectationNotes
MoveWASDStrafe while tracking props; do not stand still on open fields
Look / aimMouseSensitivity matters more than FOV cosmetics
Jump / vaultSpace (verify)Check in-game settings if Space is rebound
Shoot / fireLeft mouse buttonMachine guns and pistols; hold vs tap depends on weapon
ReloadR (verify)Check in-game settings — do not assume every gun auto-reloads the same way
Sprint / toggle runShift (verify)Check in-game settings
Interact / use world objectE or F (verify)Generators, terminals, and shop prompts vary — check in-game settings
Weapon / tool swapNumber keys or scroll (verify)Swap between gun and EW tools deliberately

Mobile infantry: expect virtual joystick + fire button + look drag. Place the fire button where your thumb does not block the sky. Increase touch look sensitivity slightly if UAVs cross the screen too fast to track.

Defender note: good infantry control is worthless if you face the wrong sector. Pair this table with positioning advice in the Defender Guide.

Attacker note: you still fight on foot between launches. Do not AFK at the hangar keyboard — reposition after each crash so defenders cannot pre-aim your spawn exit.

FPV / UAV controls

FPV is a different skill. Your camera is the drone nose; collisions and AA end the run instantly. Treat the following as community-expected patterns from FPV-style Roblox combat, then confirm each line in settings.

ActionTypical PC expectationNotes
Throttle / forward pathW / S or thrust axis (verify)Many FPV setups map forward thrust to W; check in-game settings
Strafe / slideA / D (verify)Lateral drift helps dodge tracers
Ascend / descendE / Q or Space / Ctrl (verify)Altitude control is critical — check in-game settings for the live ascend bind
Look / bank via cameraMouseSmooth micro-adjustments beat wild flicks
Spawn / deploy droneTool hotkey or interact (verify)Updates have allowed freer UAV spawn locations — find the deploy action in settings
Exit / leave droneSpace, X, or dedicated Exit (verify)Check in-game settings; practice exit so you are not stuck in a dead cam
Detonate / strike confirmLeft mouse or interact (verify)Some runs auto-detonate on impact; verify whether a manual confirm exists
Boost / sprint thrustShift or dedicated boost (verify)Check in-game settings before you rely on an emergency boost

Mobile FPV: expect dual sticks (move + look) plus a deploy button. Lower look sensitivity until you can hold a straight approach without corkscrewing. Raise it again once you can track AA muzzle flashes.

FPV practice routine (five minutes)

  1. Deploy once and hover — confirm ascend/descend binds.
  2. Fly a rectangle at low altitude without hitting props or fences.
  3. Climb, then dive at a soft dirt patch to feel camera lag.
  4. Exit cleanly and note where your infantry body still stands.
  5. Redeploy from a new angle so you are not practicing only one spawn vector.

When that loop feels boring, you are ready for approach angles in FPV Drones.

Shooting while defending AA

Defenders should treat guns like lead hoses with discipline:

  • Lead moving FPV targets — props are faster than infantry hitboxes.
  • Burst when barrels overheat or bloom (if your weapon shows heat); check weapon UI rather than inventing a cooldown number.
  • Keep crosshair at the altitude band attackers actually use, not at the horizon dirt.
  • Swap to pistol only when machine-gun reload leaves you helpless at close range — loadout ranks are in Defender Loadouts.

Attackers on foot may still shoot, but your primary damage usually comes from drones and ordnance. Do not turn every round into an infantry deathmatch unless the mode demands it.

Electronic warfare controls

EW (jamming) is a defender tool that disrupts attacker control links when power and fuel support it. Exact activation can be a held tool, a toggle, or a world station.

ActionGuidance
Equip EW toolUse your tool hotbar — check in-game settings for the slot
Activate jamPress the fire/use bind shown on the tool — verify in settings
Aim / radius indicatorWatch for any on-screen cone, pulse, or status text; do not invent range meters
Sustaining EWKeep infrastructure alive; attackers will dive power/fuel on purpose — see Electronic Warfare

If jammer audio or UI flickers, assume coverage is contested and call it in chat. Silent EW failure is how FPV players land free hits.

Gamepad and accessibility

If your session supports gamepads:

  • Confirm look stick sensitivity separately from infantry ADS feel.
  • Map deploy/exit to bumpers you will not hit accidentally while tracking.
  • Prefer hold-to-jam vs toggle only after you test both — accidental jam off mid-wave is painful in Defense mode.

Colorblind or low-contrast players should consider the Thermal gamepass for spotting, but thermal is not a control scheme — it is a visual aid. Learn audio cues either way.

Sensitivity baselines (starting points, not laws)

  • Infantry look: medium — you must flick to props without overshooting teammates.
  • FPV look: slightly lower than infantry until your horizon stays level in turns.
  • Mobile look: start low; raise only after straight approaches feel stable.

Recheck sensitivity after any UAV flight rework. Realism-focused flight updates often change how fast the camera answers stick input.

Common control mistakes

  • Inventing binds from memory of a different FPV Roblox game and never opening settings.
  • Forgetting the exit key and spectating a smoking crater while your body is free.
  • Using the same sensitivity for infantry and FPV.
  • Deploying drones without confirming the new spawn-anywhere rules after flight updates.
  • Holding EW on an empty sky while a second attacker flanks the generator.

Revisit this page after major patches. If a bind moved, update your personal notes — this wiki will keep labeling unverified keys as check in-game settings rather than guessing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Attackers, Defenders, and new pilots.

What are the exact Drone Impact keybinds?

Confirm them in the in-game settings menu. This guide lists typical WASD, mouse look, fire, and FPV expectations, and marks uncertain actions instead of inventing false keys.

Are mobile controls supported?

Expect on-screen move/look sticks plus fire and deploy buttons. Place UI so your thumbs do not cover the sky, and verify each action in settings.

How do I exit an FPV drone?

Use the Exit action shown in settings — often Space, X, or a labeled Exit control. Practice it deliberately so you are not stuck in a dead camera.

How do I activate EW jamming?

Equip the EW tool or use the world jammer interaction, then press the fire/use bind shown on that tool. Verify the bind in settings and keep power/fuel online.

What should I practice after learning controls?

Follow Getting Started for match goals, then drill approaches in FPV Drones while you play Attacker Guide or Defender Guide roles.
