Drone Impact Roles & Teams

Pick Attack or Defend on purpose — squad jobs, switch timing, and loadout thinking for 12-player servers.

Roles & Teams

Drone Impact [ROCKETS] is not a gacha hero collector. Your identity is the team you select and the job you actually perform inside a max-12 player Roblox battleground. Attackers siege infrastructure with drones, missiles, rockets, and FPV. Defenders keep the sky and base alive with machine guns, pistols, and electronic warfare (EW). This page is the deep role-select and squad-composition guide — when to lock a side, how to staff a stack, and when switching mid-session is smarter than ego queueing.

Skim the Players Hub for the short table, then use this page to build a plan. Mechanics tutorials live under Guides; paid perks are detailed on Gamepasses.

Role select: what you are signing up for

Attackers

You win by breaking the systems that keep defender EW and AA effective — power, fuel, repair nodes, and the people babysitting them. Your toolkit fantasy is mobility and tempo:

  • Scout with drones before you donate an FPV
  • Soft with missiles/rockets so defenders reveal guns
  • Finish with FPV when jam coverage slips
  • Respect reload economy after the v1.5 missile system — Premium owners reload missiles 15 seconds faster and should plan two-volley windows

Full attacker habits: Attacker Guide. Flight craft: FPV Drones. Standoff pressure: Missiles & Rockets and the focused v1.5 Missiles notes.

Defenders

You win by making every attacker life expensive. Detection, overlapping arcs, jam windows, and ruthless triage beat highlight-clip hero peeks:

  • Hear props early; turn before you demand a perfect silhouette
  • Cover lanes, not ego perches
  • Keep EW powered — attackers soft the grid on purpose
  • In Defense mode, filter ~75 UAV waves without ignoring irregular player paths

Full defender habits: Defender Guide. Swarm drill: Defense Mode. Jam theory: Electronic Warfare.

Squad composition in a 12-player server

Small servers punish clones. Before map voting (post-v1.1), lock jobs out loud:

Minimum viable attacker stack

  • 1 missile / rocket opener — forces AA to show
  • 1 FPV finisher — not the same person as your only caller if you can help it
  • 1 scout / flex — peels info, watches flank approaches on maps like Abandoned Fields
  • Caller — can be dual-hat, but someone must own breach timing

Minimum viable defender stack

  • 1 sky lead — primary AA lane and prop calls
  • 1 EW tech — jammer uptime and power/fuel trips
  • 1 flex — collapses to breached sectors
  • 1 swarm filter when Defense mode is the playlist — holds AI volume so others hunt irregular paths

Mixed lobby hygiene

  • Confirm who owns Thermal or Premium and how that changes the plan (Gamepasses)
  • Do not let five players lock the same comfort tool
  • One disconnected teammate hurts; fill flex roles before luxury duos
  • Use the Loadout Checklist so spawn shopping does not eat the first contact window

When to lock Attacker

Choose Attack when:

  • You enjoy piloting under flak more than holding a roof
  • Your stack already has a calm EW babysitter on the other side of a scrim
  • You want to practice v1.5 missile tempo and Premium two-volley plans
  • Map vote favors open approach lanes where stand-off pressure matters
  • You are willing to die for information instead of forcing every life into a highlight

Skip Attack (for now) when you still confuse generator priority, panic-empty missiles into dirt, or refuse to read Controls before blaming jam.

When to lock Defender

Choose Defend when:

  • You like audio cues, sector calls, and triage decisions
  • Your aim tracking is stronger than your FPV craft today
  • You want Defense mode reps that transfer into PvP gun skill
  • The lobby is attacker-heavy and the base needs a dedicated grid guard
  • You own Thermal and your stack actually listens to callouts

Skip Defend (for now) if you only camp indoors, ignore generator smoke, or mag-dump every AI blip while human FPV free-farms the core.

When to switch sides

Switching is a strategy, not a tantrum. Flip when:

  1. Skill bottleneck — your FPV is feeding every life; take a defender session to learn how jam looks from the other chair.
  2. Lobby imbalance — too many attackers, no EW tech; fill the hole.
  3. Patch shift — after v1.3 UAV changes or v1.5 missile tempo, rebuild muscle memory on the side that feels alien.
  4. Pass mismatch — you bought Premium but queued pure defender for a week; schedule attacker blocks so the Robux does work.
  5. Mental tilt — if you are blaming teammates for missing props, play the call-only defender drill for one match.

Do not switch every death. Give a role at least a full round plus a short review before you abandon it.

Communication scripts that win rounds

Short calls beat novels:

  • Attackers: “Soft east gen → FPV west berm on jam drop.”
  • Defenders: “FPV north dirt — EW rotating — watch missile arc.”
  • Everyone: name the map after votes so kits match sightlines (Maps)

Silence is how twelve players become twelve solo queueers sharing a server.

Progression without a hero roster

Improve in this order:

  1. Verify binds (Controls)
  2. Learn one side’s win condition deeply (Attacker Guide or Defender Guide)
  3. Add the opposite side for empathy and counter-reads
  4. Layer mechanic pages (FPV, missiles, EW, Defense mode)
  5. Spend Robux only on passes that multiply a job you already understand
  6. Re-check Patch Notes and Updates when the meta feels “off”

Ignore fake codes lists and executor ads on Scripts. Official skill plus optional passes is the supported path.

Tier lists and role identity

Role select is not the same as item ranking, but they talk to each other:

Use tiers as September 2026 community estimates, not scripture. Patches move values overnight.

Fiction and chat tone

Attackers vs Defenders, EW jargon, and rocket fantasy are entertainment framing inside a Roblox experience (placeId 74116819004213, universeId 10490506292, group Drone Impact). Keep real-world conflicts out of your excuses and out of text chat.

Pick a side for a reason, staff the missing job, and switch only when the match — or your skill gap — asks for it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Attackers, Defenders, and new pilots.

What are the two teams in Drone Impact?

Attackers destroy defender infrastructure with drones, missiles, rockets, and FPV. Defenders protect the base with machine guns, pistols, and electronic warfare (EW).

How should a small squad split roles?

Attackers need an opener, an FPV finisher, and information. Defenders need a sky lead, an EW/grid tech, and a flex — plus a swarm filter in Defense mode.

When should I switch from Attack to Defend?

Switch when you are feeding FPV repeatedly, the lobby lacks EW coverage, a patch changed your comfort tools, or you need empathy reps. Do not switch every death.

Which gamepass fits which role?

Attacker mains who already land missiles often prefer Premium (−15s missile reload). Defender or scout-heavy players often prefer Thermal vision first.

Is Defense mode a third team?

No. It is a wave-based defender drill with roughly 75 UAVs. Use it to train AA and EW habits, then bring those skills into Attack/Defend.
